CASTILLO NANO LOT COFFEE
Arabica Colombian Coffee
This Garden Coffee nano lot comes from a small suburban cultivation located in Morelia village, Pereira, Risaralda, within the buffer zone of the Risaralda Coffee Cultural Landscape. It is a domestic-scale coffee farm, planted directly in the garden and patio of a private home, surrounded by rich biodiversity and managed with fully natural practices.
The lot consists of 36 Castillo Arabica coffee trees, planted on steep slopes with gradients exceeding 25%, aligned with Attribute No. 2 of the Coffee Cultural Landscape. The coffee grows under natural shade from bamboo (guadua) and fruit trees, including guamo machete, avocado, sweet guava, cherimoya, papaya, and plantain, creating a distinct microclimate that strongly influences cup quality.
No fertilizers, composts, or pesticides are used at any stage. Pest control is entirely manual, with leaf-cutter ants being the main challenge, managed individually plant by plant. Combined with a natural processing method and sun-drying, this artisanal approach results in a highly expressive coffee whose cup profile, density, and total yield are strictly dependent on yearly climatic conditions.
Annual production is limited to a maximum of 20 kg, making this coffee a true nano lot—rare, unrepeatable, and deeply connected to its place of origin. Ideal for coffee collectors, microroasters, and origin-driven coffee projects seeking exceptional traceability and character.
